watch it run
Set something long going, leave, and watch that screen on your phone. If it stops to ask, type a line from the phone and set it going again. If you have a team, one link shares the same screen with all of them.
What leaves your PC shows up
on a phone or in a browser
Press 📡 Share in a terminal tab and that tab's screen starts going out.
Only changed lines are sent. If the server restarts, the room fills itself in again from the start.
Open the link and you get the live screen and the chat together. Nothing to install.
One tab is one room
Press 📡 Share in a terminal tab and a room opens. Open rooms collect in the
Rooms tab in the sidebar; click one and you jump to that tab.
SSH server tabs share the same way. Which means your team can watch work happening on a remote server too.
Watchers can only watch
Sharing a screen is not sharing your computer. From start to finish, only the host types.
What a watcher does
Watches the screen. Scrolls back through the conversation. Writes in the chat. That is all.
What the host does
Types commands. Puts a chat line onto the input line with ⌨ Insert. Closes the room.
A person always presses Enter
Putting a chat line on the input line does not run it. The host presses Enter themselves.
You will use it most
when nobody else is watching
It was built to show a team, and it gets used most when you are alone. You cannot sit and stare at the screen for the thirty minutes an AI takes.
Open your own room on your phone and you can even put a chat line onto the command input line. No more walking back to the desk for one "continue" or one "y". Even then, you press Enter yourself.
